Among Us review
A very cute and quite interesting indie game that was released specifically for mobile devices in the middle of 2018. However, it became popular only in 2020.
Graphics and Sound 8/10
The game is made in a space environment with a top view. It is somewhat reminiscent of the hit game Battletoads for Dendy game consoles. The game Among Us is drawn quite colorfully and prettily. The space station map that players see from above has a very laconic yet understandable design. Characters in the form of astronauts are drawn rather conventionally but look very cute. Well-chosen background music and "space" sounds add a pleasant intrigue to the overall tense atmosphere.
The game is designed for 4-10 players, which are randomly divided into astronauts and impostors. The task of the astronauts is to keep the station alive, while the task of the impostors is to sabotage the work of the astronauts or kill them. Each player has a limited field of view while moving around the map and their own tasks. The astronauts have to set up communication with the planet, pump fuel into the tank or align air pressure at the station, and the impostors have to, for example, cut off the oxygen supply to the room, or simply kill the astronaut with a knife. From time to time, players will vote who the impostor is and throw him overboard or throw him into the lava. The goal of the game is to knock out all the impostors.
Controls are standard for mobile devices. Characters are controlled by simply tapping or moving your finger across the screen. In addition, a lot of actions are required except for moving around the map, but everything is solved by simply touching the screen in the right place. The game implements the ability to communicate in real-time via chat or voice communication.
Lasting Appeal 8/10
There are only 3 game maps with fairly limited functionality that you can quickly learn. Due to this, the game does not last long, especially if this is not the first time you are playing. However, each time it is interesting to play because you play with two teams and no one knows who the impostor is.
- Intrigue throughout the game
- Ability to communicate with players
- Nice sound accompaniment
- Can't keep friends
- Can't create an account
